All of the videos on this site were made
by LGBT youth ages 15-24. Most of them were produced at REACH LA
digital arts lab.
REACH LA promotes video stories by LGBT youth in three ways:

REACH LA regularly offers free workshops for youth to produce their own video stories. The workshops take place at the REACH LA digital lab in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday afternoons 12-4pm. Students work alone or in groups to produce a short video based on their own creative writing.

LA LGBTQ YOUTH VIDEO EXHIBITION ]
IN
2002 REACH LA youth video maker, Ana Lopez, realizing a lack
of media images of LGBT youth of color, began researching online
for
other video production groups around the U.S. to see if she could
find other queer youth videos. To her excitement, she did find
some other youth production groups. Out of this search REACH
LA decided to produce national survey screening of queer youth
produced
media called “"Queer Youth Nation"”. "Queer
Youth Nation" was first screened in Los Angeles at the LA
Freewaves Festival of New Media in the Fall of 2002. Since then,
Queer Youth Nation has become a regular part of the programming
for OUTFEST - the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

Due to the large amount of interest generated by the Queer Youth Nation Screenings, REACH LA has made the LGBT youth videos produced each year in the production workshops available for purchase for low cost for use in schools, GSA's and to be screened in other festivals.
